Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join our team. This is a key, senior role within the department, responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function while providing a high standard of professionalism and quality of service to a varied client base. You will work closely with clients and colleagues alike, taking ownership of your own portfolio while supporting the development of junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries in a timely and professional manner.
Complete all assignments within the allocated budget and on time.
Produce draft tax computations for clients.
Produce year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in accordance with the relevant accounting standards.
Review work undertaken by junior members of staff.
Provide assistance and support in the development of junior staff.
Prepare schedules for tax returns.
Complete VAT returns.
Key Skills and competencies
Good computer skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as using own initiative when required.
Good organisational and administrative skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proven analytical skills.
Qualifications & Experience
AAT Qualified, with optional progression to ACA or ACCA.
Previous experience gained within General Practice.
Ability to travel to client premises and between offices.
Knowledge of accounting standards would be an advantage.
