Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly created People Function as a People Team Graduate based in Cape Town. As our accountancy and business advisory firm continues to grow, we are investing in the People infrastructure and processes needed to support that journey.
Working within a collaborative People team that supports our UK and South African operations, you will work closely with colleagues across both locations—including our UK-based graduate—primarily through Microsoft Teams. You will play an important role in delivering a responsive, accurate and people-focused service across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide professional, efficient and accurate HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle, including changes to terms and conditions of employment.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company policies and applicable data-protection requirements.
· Prepare HR documentation, including employment contracts, offer letters and policies.
· Produce HR and recruitment reports, data extracts and management information for the UK and South African People teams.
· Complete and record statutory and compliance documentation, including identity, eligibility-to-work and certification checks, as applicable.
· Support the recruitment process by advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and assisting with screening and shortlisting.
· Contribute to HR projects, audits and continuous-improvement initiatives.
· Assist with employee-engagement activities and wider People team initiatives as required.
What We Need from You
· A degree in HR or a related discipline, such as psychology or law.
· Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
· Confidence collaborating remotely through video calls and Microsoft Teams.
· A proactive mindset and a genuine interest in improving processes and ways of working.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to build effective relationships across the UK and South Africa.
· Excellent organisational skills and close attention to detail.
· The ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Previous experience in HR administration or HR operations.
· A strong understanding of South African employment law.
