Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.

The role will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys client contact, delivering accurate financial information, and supporting junior colleagues. You will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines, and contributing to process improvements across the practice.

The role is for a newly qualified SAIPA trainee.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising a monthly accounting department

• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts

• Timely submission of statutory returns

• Assisting clients with accounting and software support

• Preparing and reviewing Annual Financial Statements using IFRS for SMEs

• Dealing with clients and correspondence

• Managing and training junior staff and SAIPA trainees

• Being able to lead staff with self-confidence, self-motivation, and a positive attitude

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• Completed SAIPA articles

Experience:

• Pastel Partner and Sage One experience

• Caseware knowledge

• Strong technical VAT knowledge

• Highly computer literate in Outlook, Word, and Excel

• Company and individual tax knowledge essential

• Previous experience in similar environment

• Own transport (including valid SA driver’s license)
